I love a man with my plan

WTF next consult with my doc went nothing short of awesome! Our doc actually suggested natural cycle ivf before I could even ask about it! He said his clinic (yay for university based research clinics) have been doing this for years. Since we have ivf procedure coverage, this is the route that makes sense at this time financially and medically, since we don't know if the lack of fertilization this time was due to an egg or swimmer problem (thus, not sure which donor route to try yet).

The other thing that I'm crazy excited about is our decision to go gluten free!! While this diet change has the potential to help our swimmer and egg reserve issues, I'm just really excited about the hope of it injecting some life back into us. We sleep way more than I think we should and are both just so very lethargic and blah. Now, some of that may be winter related (that damn groundhog better be right), but I feel like there's more to it than that. The more I research it, the more I see it as a possibility to explain some of our other odd health things that have no explanation.

So...that's our new plan for a few cycles--natural cycle ivf while being gluten free while enjoying the (better be here soon) spring weather. We are excited and feel satisfied with and hopeful about these choices more than we have in a long time.

  1. Sounds like a great plan! I like the sounds of your RE. If you need any gluten-freedom tips, I fancy myself an amateur nutrition buff. I have a few nutrition posts on my blog that I wrote to help some friends out - they're pretty general but I'm a big advocate eating grain-free. Also, I have the most awesomesauce recipe EVAH for gluten-free cookies. Like, they're the most amazing cookies you've ever shoved in your craw, and they just so happen to be gluten-free.

  3. Um, ~C~, re: cookie receipt--YES please!!! And anything else you got! (no idea if you'll get this message....may have to just comment on your blog instead, but asking for a cookie recipe on your GA bill post just seemed crass...but it IS cookies, so maybe it's ok!) email the info or comment it, whatever works : ebc.adoption@gmail.com

I made the decision to go GF about 2 months ago - based solely on the connection to infertility - I feel so much better about my health. I'm no longer gassy or tired all the time and I also lost about 10 lbs.
